there was like 4 months in 2019 where I went around trying to get restaurants to adopt Hay straws - I was so fascinated by them as an alternative, they’re perfect to sip out of and are a natural byproduct of wheat processing (the straw is deadass the wheat stalk).
couple restaurants in midtown picked them up. very few others were interested. I wonder what kept them from catching on considering the other alt. straws are all kinda dirt.
